August 2019 – The Carragher Chronicles

Dear Praying Friends,

Thank you for your support, prayers, and trust in our shared ministry. The Lord uses your faithfulness to reach our military heroes and to encourage us to continue. We are forever in your debt.

“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;” ~I Timothy 1:12

We do thank the Lord for putting us in the ministry. We have always found Him faithful and all-sufficient. Our years as your missionaries have been the best years of our lives.

Our PTSD ministry continues to reach those in our communities that feel left out and alone. Just this summer, we have trained over a hundred people. Among the greatest blessings is when we see a student realize they’re not going through their trials alone. In further testimony to our Lord’s grace, He always saves someone in our camps or, in some cases, several people. Local church workshops always bring together congregations willing to help. We marvel at the Lord’s unfailing love.

Our AFBM annual training was a success with 12 missionary families in attendance. What a blessing to hear how the Lord is using each family. In addition, we had a new missionary family in attendance.

We are honored to share the following praises since our last letter:

For the Lord saving two souls since our last prayer letter.

  • For welcoming Missionary Stephanie Wesco & her family to AFBM. Sister Stephanie works with women and children suffering from PTSD, as well as teaching ladies at Christian Camps.
  • For two opportunities to teach online to soldiers in Afghanistan.
  • For a new missionary applicant to work a Christian Serviceman’s Center.
  • For our family’s health.

Prayer Requests:

  • For Christ to have the preeminence in all we do and for all we do to bring Him honor and glory.
  • For our heroes and their families.
  • For our family’s spiritual and physical health.
  • For new missionary families to reach bases without a solid witness.
  • For an upcoming visit to our missionaries in Korea.
  • For the Lord’s leading as we complete PTSD curriculum for 2020.

Quick Facts: Since the beginning of the War on Terror, we have lost 6,951 military lives across several war zones. More than 50,000 heroes have been wounded. One in three service people returning home will suffer from PTSD.

Thank you again for praying and for helping us reach our heroes with the Gospel before it’s too late. We continue to pray daily for each of you.

Your servants for Christ,

Doug & Debbie Carragher
