December 2025 Armor Bearer
Dear Faithful Prayer Warriors and Mission Agency Supporters,
If you are like me, the month of December brings back some wonderful memories as the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the season fill our eyes, our ears, and even our mouths. For some, this season means long awaited reunions with family and friends, and it often includes the opportunity to share love and gifts with one another. Our family enjoys several special traditions that make our moments together all the more meaningful. While all that is a blessing to reflect on, I know it is not a reality for all. My military career included spending this special holiday season away from loved ones on remote overseas assignments or in a combat zone. Those can be especially challenging times. Pray especially for the impact of military ministry during this season. Loneliness is very real for a number of our servicemembers whether overseas, or stationed here in the US. Our missionaries want their ministry efforts to have the greatest possible impact. A call, or card, a care package, or a special gathering can make a difference. Pray with me that God will magnify the impact of each AFBM missionary’s Christ-centered efforts during the Christmas season.
2025 has been a truly blessed year and we know that it is God who has performed it all. For our missionaries raising support in 2025, we have seen God use faithful churches to bring about great progress, What an encouraging reminder of how God wants to quickly get more laborers to the mission field!
“And of some have compassion, making a difference:” Jude 22. Last newsletter I shared some very special ways God was opening doors in 2025 to unique and impacting on-base military ministry. Spiritual fruit abounds to your account as AFBM Missionaries labor. Please know that your prayers are needed as 2026 begins and those same ministries continue their special Gospel efforts to children. Pray specifically an Awanas ministry on Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado; a Children’s Bible Club in the Department of War school on Fort Hood, Texas; and an upcoming Vacation Bible School in Summer 2026 on Naval Training Station Great Lakes, Illinois. We are also praying that God will continue to send visitors to each of our other missionary pastored churches in the US and Overseas. Each one provides life-changing Bible truth. We also are asking God to increase awareness of a relatively new Servicemen Center ministry near Fort Hood. Next month, that Director has an open door to share with chaplains about this important off-base ministry and we believe God wants to use it to reach the unsaved and to strengthen young believers.
Also, pray for some important opportunities in 2026. Ridgeview Baptist Church in Colorado Springs has recently moved into its first leased building. This is an exciting ministry step that will allow for greater ministry impact. If you would like to learn practical ways to assist this church plant as they “outfit” their new church, please contact the AFBM Home Office.
The Wrightstown Servicemen Center outside Maguire Air Force Base in New Jersey has reached countless numbers of Airmen, Marines, and Soldiers over the years. We continue to pray that God will raise up a couple, with a burden for military ministry, that could assume the leadership of that ministry in 2026. We know God will continue to send many servicemembers through that Base in the months and years ahead and we believe He wants that Center to have a part in sharing the Gospel with many. Pray for God’s leading and provision for laborers.
As always, your friends at Armed Forces Baptist Missions thank God for each of you. We are praying for God’s special blessings on your life and ministry as you enjoy this Christmas season and begin a new year of service to our Lord.
