January 2016 – The Armor Bearer
“And now the LORD shew kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing.” ~ II Samuel 2:6
It is our sincere prayer that the Lord will show you great kindness and love for your support of AFBM and our missionaries. Your burden for our heroes and their families is an example of our Savior’s love. The Lord is using you to encourage us and we are reminded of your great contribution to military worldwide missions.
As 2015 comes to an end, we want to use this letter to brag on the Lord, and how He is blessing AFBM through folks like you.
First, thank you for being part of the provision for His servants. It’s hard to remember a more difficult time to serve, yet in the midst of obstacles, you all show us God is in control, keeping His servants. With so many people looking for excuses as to why they should not support missionaries, you all stand tall, holding the ropes and filling in the gap. You are great examples of making and keeping promises by faith.
Second, the Lord continues to send His servants. Last year, the Lord sent 7 missionary families to AFBM. Among those He sent are church planters, servicemen center directors, and PTSD counselors. These missionaries will minister in 3 countries and at 6 bases, serving 200,000 military members. God is using you to reach around the world.
Thirdly, our Veteran’s outreach has tripled in the last year. Our nation has 24,000,000 Veterans with over 7,000,000 suffering from PTSD.
In 2016, our Bible distribution, which started in 2007, will reach the one million Bible milestone. Churches just like yours ship Bibles to our heroes around the world. Little is much when God is in it.
Last year, our PTSD and Bible training found our missionaries ministering in front of 10,000 hurting souls. This year we expect that number to double. These camps, workshops and training sessions have been among the most fruitful outreaches for souls that I have ever seen.
Though only the Lord knows the exact number, every month we receive reports from our missionaries around the world of souls being saved. We are so thankful the Lord uses us to reach our lost heroes.
We realize it is no small blessing to share in your ministry and allow the Lord to use us to fulfill the great commandment. Our promise to you is that we will work every day striving to bring honor and glory to our Savior and to be deserving of your trust and faith.
We cannot thank you enough for your love and prayers. You have entrusted us with a great honor.
May the Lord Bless Your Faithfulness!
On Behalf of Our AFBM Family,
Bro Doug Carragher
