May 2018 – The Armor Bearer
Dear Praying Friends,
“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” ~Acts 20:28
At the top of AFBM’s Mission Statement is the call by God to plant local churches near our heroes and their families. Along the way we are also afforded the opportunity to reach some pretty great communities. One such community that was in need of a church, outside of Fairchild Air Force Base, is Airway Heights (Spokane), WA. This past weekend, under the guidance of Faith Baptist Church in Spokane led by Pastor Greg Boyle, Hope Baptist Church was born.
A couple years ago, Pastor Boyle, after much time in prayer, had contacted us and asked us to pray concerning the need for a church close to the base. AFBM missionaries Jon & Elizabeth Schrock, along with their eight children, were praying where God would have them minister. The Lord in His perfect timing settled the matter.
God blessed their first service on April 15th with forty-six attendees (five from FBC). Pastor Schrock wrote that “God’s goodness and blessing is present here in Spokane and the Lord greatly blessed the grand opening services and the follow-up.” They are actively working with nine families, following up and helping them take their next step, whether that be accepting Christ as Savior, or Baptism and Church Membership.
Perhaps, you would like to join the Schrocks in this ministry through much needed prayers and financial support to reach these heroes with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you can help, please contact Pastor Jon Schrock at schrock.jonathan@gmail.com for additional information. You may forward all support and offerings to AFBM marked “Schrock family”.
Thank you for the great respect you show this important ministry. It is a privilege to serve with all of you and we are thankful for the kindred spirit. Daily, we pray the Lord will bless you, your families, churches and communities.
On behalf of our missions family-Your servant, Doug Carragher, General Director
