November 2015 – The Armor Bearer
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” ~Isaiah 9:6
All of us at AFBM want to wish you Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Our hearts rejoice with you as we report how the Lord is using our shared ministry throughout the world. Everyday our ministry is an example of your faithfulness and our Lord’s exceeding grace. Thank you for your testimony and being examples that we can emulate.
The Lord blessed us with two new missionary families. Two weeks ago the Kursinsky Family was accepted as missionaries to our military heroes at Fort Benning, GA. Daniel, a retire career solider, with his consummate Army wife, Kelly, will be used by our Lord in a wonderful way. Fort Benning, GA has an all male Basic Training that trains more than 35,000 soldiers a year. Every Army Infantryman is trained there along with the US Army Airborne School, the US Army Ranger School, the Armor Training Center, and the Officer’s Candidate School. The Kursinsky’s currently meet with over a one-hundred soldiers on weekly bases and have seen soldiers saved at almost every meeting. They work out of Victory Baptist Church in Columbus, GA. Please pray for Daniel and Kelly along with their two grown sons Andrew and Jordan.
Last week we were honored to accept the Dursi Family as missionaries. Larry has taken every counseling and PTSD course he can get his hands on. As a Navy Veteran he aches to reach our heroes with their need for a Savior. Like us, the Dursi’s realize there is another threat to our heroes, it is an internal threat and this internal threat is hideous and stealth at times. This internal threat has a name, it is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, often called PTSD.
PTSD tortures the minds, hearts, and spirits of our heroes. It brings them to dark places and even suicide. Armed Force Baptist Missions has trained Larry who will serve those whose spirits are wounded and those whose soul is unreached. They work out of Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford, TX. Please pray for Larry and Toni who will serve our heroes as PTSD Counselors and group leaders.
We want to let you know we are so thankful for your love and support. You are making a difference for our Lord and share in the many decisions made by our heroes. The Lord is using you my friends and we cannot thank the Lord and you enough for your partnership.
On behalf of our AFBM Missionary Family,
