June 2016 – The Armor Bearer

Thank you for your faithful prayers and support for AFBM.  You are making a difference reaching our heroes with the Gospel of Christ.  It is sacrificial giving like yours that allows this God-called labor of love to continue.

“…The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” ~Luke 10:2

We are honored to welcome Missionaries Travis, Jennifer, Justin (not pictured), Hannah, Charity, Luke, Timothy and Amelia. The Jones family will run a Serviceman Center out of Providence Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. Their outreach is to Fort Gordon, GA. Also, Travis serves as a reserve chaplain on Fort Gordon. Please add them to your prayer lists and consider them for a meeting at your church.

Servicemen Center ministries are fruitful, working with local churches to reach our heroes.   They are safe God zones reaching our heroes for Christ and bringing them to church.  We currently have seven Servicemen Center ministries.

In recent years our military has distanced itself from born-again believers and their outreach.  One way they have done this is by placing restrictions on the Word  of God.   It  is  heart  breaking to read the storiesand see those affected.  More than ever our heroes need God’s word. They need to learn that the Bible is inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore their final authority for faith and life.  We will do everything in our power to distribute God’s Word to our military.  As in years past the Lord used Grace Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit to assemble and bind Scriptures for our heroes.  This year these faithful people assembled more than 35,000 Scriptures for our military.  Even as I type this letter the Bibles are being distributed in six countries. Through their efforts the Lord has now allowed us to distribute more than 1,000,000 Scriptures.

Our PTSD ministry continues to grow and reach those suffering.  The reports and the testimonies from those trained are inspiring.  Last month, I spoke with two veterans sought out at a VFW and a VA clinic.  They both had a plan in place to commit suicide.  They were gloriously saved and joined their local churches.

Next week we have our first summer PTSD Camp at Camp Joy, WI.  Please pray for us and that the Lord will provide the money needed for two missionaries to attend and become trainers.  If you can help please let me know as soon as possible.

Please join us in praying for our military heroes, their families, and those who minister to them.   Pray for our Department of Veterans Affairs that they will see to our heroes’ health and the doors will remain open to ministry.  Five of our missionaries have outreaches to their local VA clinics.

We are so thankful for your faithfulness to fulfill the Great Commission and your trust in our ministry.  We share in a ministry whose outreach never sleeps.  The Lord is using your support and prayers to reach our heroes.

On behalf of our AFBM Family,

Doug Carragher, Th.D.
